Sony may have skipped out on E3 2021, but with their recent showcase, it’s clear they were only biding their time to come onto the scene with an even bigger impact.

If you missed out on watching the 40-minute long event, here are some of the major highlights that got the internet buzzing with excitement.


Knights of the Old Republic Sees New Life

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is getting a fresh remake for the PS5. Not many were expecting BioWare’s classic RPG to get such a hot revival, but the cinematic teaser trailer was more than enough to get fans eager to see more. As it was a teaser, it has no set release date yet.


An Action-Packed Project Eve Enters the Stage

With Project Eve, PlayStation users get a brand-new action RPG. This showcase effortlessly showed off what you can expect when playing thanks to it using gameplay footage captured on the PS5. Even with the lengthy trailer, there’s no release date set.


Tiny Tina’s Wonderland is Ready for Launch

Although this specific game isn’t a new announcement, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland did get some new footage shown that better shows off all the fantastical elements we’d expect from a Borderlands spin-off title. This also got a firm release date as it comes out March 22, 2022.


Alan Wake Remastered Receives a Full Trailer

As the trailer states, Alan Wake is finally coming to the PlayStation in a remastered version. This also isn’t a new announcement, but it does get a highly anticipated full trailer this time around. It comes out October 5.


GTA 5 and GTA Online is Delayed

Although there was hope that the enhanced and expanded version of Grand Theft Auto 5  and Grand Theft Auto Online would come out in November, it’s now due for release in March 2022. So, fans have to wait a few much months longer to enjoy it on the new console.


Tchia is a Beautiful Entry to the Indie World

With Tchia comes a gorgeously vibrant open-world indie game. There’s no shortage of color with a compelling art style that will no doubt capture the attention and hearts of viewers. There’s no release date given yet.


The Uncharted Legacy Lives On

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection brings the beloved action series back with an edition that includes the remastered version of Uncharted 4 and the stand-alone game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. This aims to come out sometime in early 2022.


Wolverine is Teased

Now here’s something that shocked viewers at the showcase. Insomniac is making a new solo Wolverine game, and although it’s teased with a stunning cinematic trailer, there’s no real information available as well as no release date. All we know is that the brooding clawed X-Man is ready to beat some guys down.


Gran Torismo 7 is Finally Ready

Although pushed back, Gran Torismo 7 is ready for launch as it races onto the showcase stage with a sleek trailer and a release date aimed for March 4, 2022. The trailer highlights the epic world ready to be explored as well as several cars you can unlock.


A Shocking Spider-Man 2 Swings into the Scene

Another unexpected gem out of the showcase is Spider-Man 2. Not only do we see two Spider-Men fighting side-by-side, but we also witness the introduction of the exciting villain Venom. Fans have to wait sometime for this though as it doesn’t come out until 2023.


God of War: Ragnarok Makes its Debut

Fans of the epic series have been eagerly awaiting footage of God of War: Ragnarok, and the showcase gave all that and more. We got a look at the usual, yet still exciting, action as well as the incredible graphics. There’s still no release date set, and the best given to us is that it comes out in 2022.
